MacroLife is a desktop version of the game of Life, invented in 1970 by the John Conway, a mathematician. It is, almost without doubt, the best of its kind for Acorn computers. The Life plane offered contains over four billion (4,000,000,000!) cells, and some of its many features include:

Saving, loading and editing of Life planes

A library of predefined Lifeforms

Random field generation

Other algorithms (such as 3-4 Life), or define your own

Return to start position

A range of magnifications

Variable speed

Many, many more

There must be dozens of Life programs around. I got MacroLife first, then looked in horror at the others which were presented to me as good pieces of software! If you want an insight into the fascinating world of computer Life, get this!
