Continuing the QFN foreign song translation this issue we have the traditional Hungarian folksong Tavaszi Szl, which was performed at Npstadion, Budapest, Hungary on 27th July 1986 (The QFN editor's birthday!).

The translated is by 'manowar@engin.umich.edu' (via The Internet).

I'm still looking for a translation to 'Las Palabras De Amor (The Words Of Love) for the next issue, which I think would be the only other foreign-language Queen song not translated in this section of QFN. Get back issues if you missed Teo Torriatte or Mustapha (issues 21 and 22 resepectively).

After that I will be looking at the lyrics to rarer songs which the individual members have recorded, ie 'I Can Hear Music'/'Going Back' from Freddie, non-album b-sides and possible the Smile songs. There are however the Barcelona album songs..... Anyway here's Tavaszi Szl.

Tavaszi Szl vizet raszt
Virgom, virgom
Minden madr trsat vlaszt
Virgom, virgom

Ht n immr kit vlasszak
Virgom, virgom
Te engemet, n tgedet
Virgom, virgom

The translation goes something like this :

Fall winds create floods
My flower, my flower
All the birds choose companions for themselves
My flower, my flower

Who shall I choose
My flower, my flower
You shall choose me and I shall choose you
My flower, my flower

This is not the greatest translation but I hope it gets the point across and it is accurate. When I write flower it means something like dearest/lover, sweetheart
etc...

Now a short guide to pronounciation :
