Too Much Love
-------------
A 'Too Much Love...' postcard was mailed out to fan club
members the week before release featuring the the same
artwork as the CD/vinyl/cassette cover.

Too Much Love Will Kill You This release was available on
both CD and Cassette and were released 26th February, with
the pink vinyl 7" on 4th March 1996. All versions contained
the album version of the lead track.

CD - Too Much Love... / Spread Your Wings / We Will rock You
/ Champions (last 3 are digtal remasters). Cassette - Too
Much Love... / We Will rock You / Champions (last 2 are
digtal remasters). Pink Vinyl 7" - Too Much Love... / We
Will rock You / Champions (last 2 are digtal remasters).

There is also a promo picture disc CD of 'Too Much Love Will
Kill You' which differs from the commercial release by
having both album and single version of the title-track, but
not the 'Spread You Wings' digital remaster. Even though
there was/is a 7" commercial vinyl version of 'Too Much
Love...',

There is also a 7" black juke-box only version too, just
like the releases for 'Heaven...' and 'A Winter's Tale'.

Unlike 'Made In Heaven' and 'A Winter's Tale' 'Too Much Love
Will Kill You' didn't come as a two set CD, as the pink 7"
was relased a week after the initial CD release.

You Don't Fool Me - European release March 5th 1996
---------------------------------------------------

This track was relased on CD as an edited version in most
countries plus the album version too.

Also the is a 4-track CD with the above two versions, plus
the 'Sexy Club Mix', and the 'Dancing Divas Club Mix'.

A DJ only 12" has been released, with the 'Sexy Club Mix',
and the 'Dancing Divas Club Mix', plus a 'Rhythm Mix' and
'Instrumental Mix'.

In Italy the above 12" will be a commercial release but
without the 'Dancing Divas Club Mix', but will add a new
mix.

I Was Born To Love You - released 26th February 1996
----------------------------------------------------
This Japanese only one-track CD release is being used
throughout 1996 in a Japanese advertising campaign for Kirin

artwork on the CD, but not the CD itself.

Nobody Knew
-----------
The single Nobody Knew by Carmine Appice featuring Brian
May on guitar has been withdrawn at Brian and Carmines
insistence - neither of them gave permission for its
release. The cover pictures only Brian and has his name in
large letters and with Carmine Appice in small letters
beneath, thus looking as though its a Brian May single. It
may be release with a new cover at a leter date, but if you
have the original CD (or vinyl) you have a future
collectable. The CD version was selling for 40 at the 1996
Convention in May. The single was lifted from the album
Guitar Zeus which also features Slash, Ted Nugent and
Yngwie Malmsteen.

Brian has recently been working on his next solo album,
which he hopes to release later this year, and tour in 1997.

GA GA'S NEW CD - A TRIBUTE TO QUEEN.
------------------------------------
During the past few months "Ga Ga" the Queen cover band from
Liverpool have been touring the UK by the Holsten Brewing
company, who have also helped them to produce their first
four-track CD single (time - 16:21).

The four tracks are 'Son and Daughter' (from Queen's first
album), 'You'll Never Die (Song For freddie)' which is a
original, and is dedicated to Freddie, 'Oh Angel' which is
another of Ga Ga's own songs, and finally 'These Are The
Days of Our Lives' which is taken from Innuendo.

Both the two Queen songs are performed very well, but we
must confess that 'These Are The Days of Our Lives' is the
best in our opinion. The two Ga Ga songs which were both
written by John Holmes their lead vocalist and guitarist,
are really good. We can only hope that there are many more
to follow. Our favourite of the two must be 'You'll Never
Die' which is a song for Freddie and we think that says it
all! The CD was recorded at The Pink Museum Studios,
Liverpool, and is well worth a listen.

Copies of the CD are 3 each plus postage (25p UK / 50p
Europe 1 Rest Of World) can be obtained from Graham
Patrick, 5 Christopher Close, Childwall, Liverpool, 16 1Jl,
Merseyside as can further information about Ga Ga.

Strange Fun
-----------
A postcard illustrating both of Roger's first two albums was
mailed out by the fan club the second week in May announcing
them to be "Now available on CD for the first time.
Digitally remastered." No mention of extra tracks as hoped.

The release date of 'Fun In Space' and 'Strange Frontiers'
was changed from the original 6th to 13th May 1996.

The original release date for the next Queen single Let Me
Live has also been changed to 17th June.

The 11th International Queen Fan Club Convention Southport
----------------------------------------------------------
         Friday 3rd - Sunday 5th May 1996

This weekend was named The Eleventh Heaven for obvious
reasons, and was the biggest Queen convention so far. There
seemed well in in excess of 2,000 fans there. I just cant
understand whysome people were content to spend their time
in the amusment arcade when there were so many organised
events. With two main rooms, and the QTV channel on the
chalet TVs, there was no reason to sit in front of a video
machine or play pool - this can be done anytime!

Anyway, as alway the program for the weekend was not only
very well organised, but bursting with things to do. Below
is a list of what you missed if you werent there, and maybe
for those of you who couldnt fit everything in for one
reason or another.

As always many old friends were rejoined and new ones made,
or faces put to names who had previously only been a name on
a piece of paper or a voice at the end of the phone.

The auction was held early on Friday evening and didnt seem
to have as many unique items as pervious years. There were
many signed awards, photographs etc, and some items of
clothes, most memorable (for me at least) was on of Rogers
dressing gowns. I think the highest bid was for a Platimun
Award given by Queens record company to the band for Made
In Heaven achieving 3 time platinum, and it sold for
3,500.

Many fans must have been astounded by on of the entrants in
the Miming competiton - Arthur Tonnas (from Malta) who just
naturally looked like Freddie, even without dressing up.
Unfortunately Arthur didnt seem to know the words to the
song he was miming to and didnt get through to the final.
However Im sure well see a lot more of him, in the future.

See you all next year.

Was It All Worth It? A Reshuffle of the Queen Cabinet
-----------------------------------------------------
The concept from EMI to provide a complete album catalogue
on picture-CD housed in it's own special case was a
wonderful one, and it's unvieling was eagerly awaited by all
despite the price tag being far too high.

I have bought a cabinet (at 350), but had to return SIX
sub-standard ones beforehand. More realistically I have
bought 20 of the most beutiful CD's I have ever seen, at a
price of 17.50 each, and a case I will never need. Why?
Because basically it's a 'jazzed-up' storage cabinet, and it
is unimaginable that I would consider tucking away such a
visually stunning collection of CD's.

I would want this cabinet to becaome part of my home - a
focal point like a painting. So my preferance would be to
have the CD's in a practical display case with a hinged
glass front. Forget the cheap hologram, it needs a simple
metal plaque embossed with the word Queen and perhaps some
relevant dates. "...and there you have it!" on the wall - 25
years of musical brilliance. 25 years of unforgettable
memories at a glance. In fact one could wax lyrically
withsuch "a truely magnificent view".

Damage Limitation: With regard to sub-standard cabinets, I
understand this to be an international condition, so if you
are considering a purchase it should realise perfection.
Open the box in the shop and check there is no damage
anywhere. The prices can variy widely so shop around too.

My message to EMI is: "Thank You for 20 beautiful CD's, but
do the honourable thing and recall all the faulty cabinets.
Make money out of fans, but please don't exploit us." I find
it very sad, pretty shameful and quite unnecessary at the
end of 25 years - we really don't deserve it.

Queen should continue to mean Quality, as Freddie said,
"Whatever you do, do ir well".

Fryderyki Awards - Warsaw Ploand - 19/03/1996
---------------------------------------------
This award is in memory of Frederic Chopin and presented by
the Polish musicindustry to there favourite artists of the
year in many varied catagories.

Last year the award was a little statue of Chopin in jeans
and boots, but this year it is a simple transpsrent plate
with the letter 'F' on.

Roger and Brian were presented with the award for 'Made In
Heaven' for 'Najlepszy Album Roku', or 'Best Album of the
Year' (for an overseas artist) for those of you who don't
speak Polish.

Brian turned up in a conservative grey suit with Roger in
tow, and thanked the audience of mainly record business
people who do most of the voting.

Before leaving, Brian said, in his best Polish, "Jestesmy
Zaszcyceni", which translates as "we are honoured".

Thanks to Agnes Arsimowicz for the information and
translations.

GA GA'S UK LIVE MUSIC TOUR
--------------------------
During the later months of 1995 and throughout 1996 Ga Ga
are being sponsored by Holston Pils (Greenhalls Brewery) in
various venues around the UK. These events are on a Tuesday,
Wednesday or Thursday night leaving the weekends free for Ga
Ga to continue their own successful concert appearances
throughout the Country.

On Thursday 8th February 1996 Ga Ga were appearing at
'Butlers' in Gloucester which is only about 65 miles away
from us by car. After stopping for a quick meal at a Little
Chef we arrived in Gloucester at about 7.30pm and were able
to park right outside the venue, which on the outside looked
quite small but inside it was a large pub with a small stage
at one end and the all important bar running down most of
the length of one side.

Ga Ga took the stage at approximately 9.00pm and to our
delight opened their show with 'It's A Beautiful Day' and
then went straight into 'It's A Kind of Magic'. Next John,
Graham and Dave introduced themselves and welcomed everyone
to the show. Their set continued with 'I Want To break
Free', 'Somebody to Love' and then another new one 'Mother
Love' which was performed very well. Next came 'Now I'm
Here', 'Heaven for Everyone' which John, the lead singer
dedicated to Freddie, 'Killer Queen', and then they ended
the first set with 'You're My Best Friend'.

Ga Ga then started their second set with 'You Don't Fool
Me', again very well received by the audience. Ga Ga then
went on to perform a medley of Queen songs which included
'Keep Yourself Alive', 'One Vision', 'Seven Seas of Rhye',
'Tear It Up' and 'I Want It All'. This medley was very well
received and by now the dance floor was full of people
dancing to the great music. Next the band went on to sing
'Another One Bites The Dust', 'Crazy Little Thing Called
Love', 'Headlong', 'Radio Ga Ga' with the usual audience
participation and then ended their second set with 'Bohemian
Rhapsody' and they then left the stage.

The crowd had really enjoyed the show and this was proved by
the way everyone shouted for more. After a few minutes the
band returned to the stage to the delight of the crowd and
performed an encore which consisted of 'We Will Rock You',
'We Are The Champions' and of course the show ended in the
traditional way with 'God Save The Queen'.

Everyone had enjoyed the show during which the band had
asked questions (Queen related of course) and the first
person to shout out the correct answer received a Ga Ga Tour
T-shirt or a Ga Ga CD, and as we managed to win one I can
assure you is very good. The band are performing at various
venues all over the Country so if possible go and see them,
after all the music will be great!!

Further information about Ga Ga can be obtained by writing
to Graham Patrick, 5 Christopher Close, Childwall, Liverpool
16 1JL, Merseyside.

5TH FRENCH QUEEN MEETING: Thionville, France.
---------------------------------------------------------
      20-21 April 1996 Andy FitzGerald, April 1996

It was a beautiful Saturday on arrival in the town of
Thionville; just 30 km from Luxembourg, but it felt like
Madrid! Check-in at the meeting-hall began at 2 p.m. for the
65 fans from France, Holland, and Switzerland.

After the opening welcome, we had the chance to test our
Queen knowledge with some amusing video and audio quizzes.
You'd be surprised how difficult it is to place an obscure
freeze-frame of some 'mystery' video. Everyone made several
tours of the hall's walls to answer some clever and original
teasers which used photo's from different eras, logo styles,
and missing song titles.

Audience-participation followed with a grand performance of
'Freddies Salsa' by foursome Camille, Jef, Isabelle, and
Philippe. It made "I'm Going Slightly Mad" look expressly
sensible!

We had our auction, and then our 'banquet' follwed by a
raffle for Queen bits and pieces. Next, the live music
began, (Queen of course!), everyone being able to dance,
sing, and make a hullabaloo until the small hours!

After a short night's sleep, we all crawled out of the two
nearby hotels for a continental Queen breakfast together.
Early risers were able to enjoy some rare Queen video
footage. During the Sunday morning we had a 'quiz show' -
two teams of five testing their knowledge and speed against
each other and the audience - me being the proud captain of
the "losers in the end"! Before departure, people had a
quick last-minute purchase of CDs, records, pix, etc.
Cameras were clicking and addresses assorting before saying
"bye" to a lovely family of genuinely warm people. Special
thanks to Philippe and Yves for their enormous amount of
preparation, and perfectly performed presentation. Yes they
were brill!
