OIQFC Magazine - Winter 95/96

As always for the few of you not in the Fan Club in London,
here are the main points from the above issue.

Since the last issue of QFN in October '95 there has been
two fan club mags mailed out (Autum and Winter) so below is
a brief recap of their contents.

Autumn '95
This is the issue which announces the final album, and the
luanch organised by the fan club at the Hammersmith. The SAS
band play the night before at 'The Orange' in Kensington.

It's Roger's turn to write a personal letter to fans and he
writes how difficult the final albumwas to make without
Freddie, and how he expects the press to slag them off.

The track listing for 'Made In Heaven' is printed and
information. 'Heaven For Everyone' is announced as the first
single, information about the 'Champions...' video is
detailed.

Jacky talks to Richard Gray about the album cover's
conception and realisation, and also to Struart Grundy about
the radio series.

The collectors 20 CD box is described and the Queen Internet
World Wide Web Site is first mentioned. The lauch was set to
coiocide with the album launch of November 6th 1995.

A Collectors corner section is started and various early
singles picture covers from around the world are illustrated
and values given.

A Queen phonecard (Live Aid/Freddie) from The Czech Republic
is for sale at 12 from a fan.

Two guitarists give their opinion of their Brian May copy
guiars. They didn't just buy copies, they made their own.

Winter '95
This year is Freddie's 50th birthday and the fan club is
having a party to be held at The Mendip Hall, Sommerset. The
cover band Magic will be palying, and The Cross might be
reforming for a one-off concert! Do date is given, so send
an SAE marked PARTY and you'll be notified.

Of course there is a lot about the new album in this issue,
an a list is printed which includes chart placings around
Europe. It reached number one in 13 countries. The coloured
ivory vinyl was shared out between various countries around
the world and a full run down of where all the copies went
it listed. For instance Spain received 1000, though Denmark
only got 50.

Part of the UK advertising campaign included stamping 2
million fresh barn eggs with the words. 'Queen', 'Made In
Heaven', and 'The New Album'. A photograph is printed in
this issue.

EMI donated all the royalities on every copy of 'Made In
Heaven' sold throughout the world on World Aids Day
(December 1st).

As well as the Hendrix Tribute album, Brian has also played
on a 'Tribute To The Shadows' to be released next year.
Brian did a version of the old Shadows instrumental 'FBI'
with guests Status Quo. Brian went to Francis Rossi's studio
to work on FBI and ended up playing on the new Status Quo
album 'Don't Stop' (released mid February '96). The track
Brian worked on is the old Buddy Holly classic 'Raining In
My Heart.

Brian is also to contribute to Lonnie Donnegon's new album
which also includes Paul McCartney and Van Morrison.

The game 'Rise Of The Robot' which Brian was involved with
has spawned an update, this time it's 'Rise 2 -
Resurrection' (Released March '96) Brian has produced a
special track for it called 'Cyborg'.

Both Roger and Brain have been working on solo material, but
no released dates are known.

A very rare and previously unpublished photograph of Freddie
and his sister is printed in this issue. They are on shown
on holiday in India in 1946.

Jason Falloon (guitartist in Roger's solo touring band) is
recording his debut album at Roger's studio. It is hoped
that Jason will play at a future fan club event.

Finally, Jacky was sent a bootleg by a fan which she passed
on to Brian for his comments. Brian's comments are printed
and make for very interesting reading. The bootleg in
question is called 'Demories Please Majesties'.
