With only a day to go until Spectrum 2 is released, we have just
heard of a new book on Acorn hardware. "Hardware Expansion and
Peripheral Conectivity of the ACORN 'A' series, Archimedes, RiscPC,
A4 portable and Pocketbook computers" is being compiled by Hugh
Swan of Wiltshire. He hopes to provide a "one stop reference to the
widest possible range of Acorn computer users". The book will
detail compatibility limitations, but will not compare products on
suitability for a certain task over others. Hugh intends to have the
format fairly adaptable, as updates will be quite regular. What he
plans is a "book with the flexibility of a magazine".

Each entry will describe in detail with pictures what the product
does, on which machines it can be used, prices, as well as contact
names, addresses and telephone numbers.

The projected release date is May 1995, and in Hugh's own words,
will be "an exciting breach of convention". We wish him every
success with the book.
