turned off, you are in hover mode, allowing you to spin
round rapidly from side to side (by speeding or slowing
the tail rotor in real life). But in this mode you can
only move forward or back very slowly, so to get some real
speed, you press the middle mouse button and cut the jet
engine in. In jet mode, you can't manouvere left and right
as quickly, but the aircraft feels more like a plane in
this condition.

To start with you are armed only with cannon, but as
you progress, you can pick up more advanced weaponry like
rockets. Despite getting to mission 10, I still haven't
got any smart weapons, so despite being in the future, all
the weapons are still unguided. In real life today,
Apaches are armed with Hellfire laser guided weapons which
proved to be devastating in the gulf. The authors
obviously haven't realised the importance of modern
weapons, as seen as I'm half way through the game and are
still using 70's technology.

The lack of a control dashboard is also meant to make
the game more futuristic and simpler. I wouldn't really
say it helps though. I ran out of fuel on one mission and
was told by the HUD message box that "fuel is low", about
a minute later, and only halfway to the nearest helipad,
the engine cut, and I plummeted to the ground. With no way
