changes their mind, is the instant and unrecoverable loss
of their drive.

   Several months after getting my hard disk, it suddenly
turned itself off, and was in the end replaced by my
dealer. I lost approximately 20 megs of public domain.
That may not sound too much, but it consisted of a lot
programs which I had carefully selected from the other 80%
of junk usually found mixed in with all the decent
programs.

   After that, I had of course learnt my lesson, and I
always made sure that I had at least one floppy copy of
all the stuff on my hard disk.

   All I'm trying to say is that it is worthwhile spending
a few extra minute putting things onto floppy. If you ever
think to yourself "why bother?" then just imagine getting
by with the temporary loss of your hard disk (and possibly
computer) and the permanent loss of all the software on
it. Things do go wrong.
