operations can be made if you posses Risc OS 3 (or one of
the PD IBM disk accessing utilities).

   SparkFS costs 23.96 (available from David Pilling) and
is worth considering if you use a lot of compression
(particularly on a hard disk) or if you use a lot of file
types. I should think SparkFS would be useful to any PD
library owner.

   To sum up : A lot more expensive than the previous
packages I've descibed, but if you use ArcFS a lot, and
are fed up with waiting for it to compress stuff, then
this is the package for you. If you want to install it on
your hard drive, and compress everything in order to
"double your disk space", Compression is probably more the
package for you, as you can't really use SparkFS
"transparently".

   Due to the unusual length of this article, it's going
to have to continue next issue, so look out for my
description of all the other compaction packages, a review
(hopefully) of ArcFS2, and a conclusion which sorts out
which is the package for you.
