much of a choice, due to the limited points available.
However, I will try to provide some pointers as to the
choices that should be made from about level 2 onwards.
Firstly, recconaisance is very important and therefore its
worth spending a small amount on one or two of the
lightest tanks available - the Chaffee. During the game
section, you can send these speeding from on side of the
board to the other (under computer control), in order to
pick up sightings of the enemy. The next and most
important requirement, is for the main body of tanks that
will usually be controlled by the computer. Tanks under
the control of the computer aren't known for there IQ, and
so choosing the Pershing - for its heavy armour - will
normally help you to prevail for longer, in a sustained
firefight. Finally, we need a tank for you the player to
control, and I always pick the M36 tank killer for this
special task. The M36 has the best gun on the American
side, and so can deal with anything from tiny panzerIIIs
to the enormous King Tiger. The M36 also has speed, and
this vitally important, as it does not have an awful lot
of armour to speak of.
