!Boot Files on Hard Disks

   The first stage of creating a Boot file is to add the
program itself to the root directory of your hard disk
(this is the one that appears when you click on the icon
bar hard disc icon, and is indicated by a $ in the
pathname.

   I have included an example Boot file on this disk, to
help you out, but understanding is important, and a
description of the processes is given below for anyone who
wants to work through the process.

   Move the pointer over the root directory and press the
middle button for the filer menu. Goto new directory and
type in "!Boot". An application directory should appear
near the top of your root window, in the form of the
standard App. icon. The next stage is to add a pretty
picture of a boot, in the form of a sprite file (I've done
this for you in the example). Copy this into new app
directory.

   We now need to tell the WIMP where to find the sprites
for the directory's icon. Load Edit, and select create
