!Boot files and Aplication Directories

   The following article is intended to explain how to set
up a !boot file on your hard disc - a very useful method
of preventing all those times when you click on textfiles,
and see them scroll past before you can read them. And for
all those people out there who don't own hard discs, I've
included a section describing the Application directories
found almost everywhere in Archimedes programs.

Application Directories (App. directories)

   What are all those programs that begin with a "!" and
each have their own special icons? Well hold shift down
and double click on one and you'll find out. Each of these
mysterious files are in fact just normal directories, but
with one or two special features. When you click on one
(without shift held down) the program will run, but whats
actually happening?

   When you click on the Application directory, the !Run
file found inside the App. directory is executed. The !Run
file (always found in an App. directory) consists of a
list of instructions that are executed. These instructions
