Graphics in Games ....

How good are they or should they be????

The Arc has the potential for some really great games,
and yet there aren't that many games that stretch the Arc.
The Arc has the power to manipulate 256 colour masked
sprites, yet the majority of conversions simple use
identical graphics converted from the Amiga, which are
only in 16 colours. That said, when you look at the
quality of the graphics in games such as Speedball II,
GODS, Xenon II Megablast, Cadaver and the like, 16 colour
graphics can look superb. Compare Cadaver to Pandora's
Box. Of the two, Cadaver has the better graphics and
smoother animation, yet Pandora's Box is in 256 colours.

When it comes to 3D graphics, the Arc is streets ahead
of the Amiga, due to its superior number crunching. Take
Elite, on the Arc it is much, much smoother, the graphics
are much clearer. Chopper Force has nothing to compare to
it on the Amiga. The most famous 3D game on the Amiga is
perhaps Starglider II (incidentally, converted to the Arc,
running four times as fast, yet the publishers refuse to
