Music by EXEL

As a fairly new person to the Archimedes I personally
feel that there is a lack of good music available. Most
people say music isn't necessary to make a good game, but
I do not agree. The music sets the whole atmosphere and
mood for the game and without, it would seem a bit empty.
Anyone can produce a good piece of music if they put
there minds to it. Demo groups and others, usually use
music that was originally produced on the Amiga. Although
I ususlly produce my music on the Amiga (and then
port-it-across), and personally prefer this, there are a
number of good music packages around on the Arc. Over the
next few months we will be reviewingthe best ones
available, starting with Ultrasonic.

Ultrasonic: This package is good for beginners, but does
lack some of the more advanced features. The notation of
the music is excellently presented, showing the notes in
line with the keys on a keyboard. Notes are inputed by
simply clicking on the scale in line with the appropriate
key. This is a fast way of converting your ideas to the
computer. Each pattern only contains the notes for a
single channel which makes the package very adaptable,
making it easy to vary your song.
