
   Despite the lack of several main tools that are only
found in full art packages, Paint does have some features
that are often over looked. The "set", "or", "and" and EOR
options are often not available in other packages, and yet
they can produce some great effects. They are best used
with the spray can and in 256 colour modes, where some
useful shading can be achieved. However, make sure you
test these options out on a new sprite first, as they can
have a pretty devatating effect on your favourite
masterpiece if you don't know what your'e doing.

   The sprite mask option is also very useful, and allows
you to make certain areas of a sprite appear transparent
when plotted onto the screen. This can save an awfull lot
of hard work on the programming side if you are producing
sprites for a game or demo etc.

   The text facility in Paint is rather poor, as only the
system font is available for printing on your sprites, but
a range of styles can be available if you temporarily
change the system font itself. See the Factfile for
