Depots
^^ ^^^
A depot is a structure from which various vehciles can be sent. Their main
task is to rebuild enemy ouposts, most notably hangars. These vehicles can
take the form of planes, trucks, trains or ships. During the course of the
four missions you will encounter each of these. They travel on set routes
from their departure to an eventual destination. On the land based
simualtions, all of the vehicles which travel on the land follow the roads.
The planes generally follow a straight line after having taken off, finally
landing at their destinantion. On the sea based simulation (no.3) you will
encounter ships. They are not armed and basically make their way to their
destinantion by weaving a route through the islands. On the final mission,
there are also trains. Similar to the planes, they travel in a constant
straight line to their destinantion. As mentioned earlier, the routes which
the vehicles follow are usually from the depot to an enemy hangar or
structure. However, on some missions, the deopts are linked to each other,
so they have to be destroyed sytematically in order to prevent rebuilding.
The first vehicle to reach a hangar will initally rebuild the hangar.
The next vehicle will then deposit one aircraft, and so will all vehicles
after that. This is the same when depots are linked to each other. The
vehicles will generally travel in groups of three or more with a constant
distance between each vehicle. The depots themselves can vary depending on
the vehicle that they are releasing; plane hangars, train stations, truck
hangars, boathouses. Each hangar holds approximately 20 vehicles and are
protected by AA guns and SAMs.
