Intended to test your skills of flying, combat and reasoning, you must be
ready to react to all incidents that you will encounter. Our own satellites
have been able to give us some information regarding the enemy movements on
the ground, but they can be as much as two weeks old, so there is the
possibility of error in them. This will have to be expected. Be ready for
anything

Aircraft
^^^^^^^^
You will encounter a wide variety of aircraft in this simulation; the full
information on them can be found in the section entitled 'Aircraft' from the
'General' submenu. The best way to destroy these is to use air-to-air
missiles. See the section entitled 'Ordnance' for further information. These
have the ability to seek and destroy any plane to which it is targeted. The
advantage of using these missiles is that after firing the missile you can
then fly towards another target, safe in the knowledge that the plane will
be brought down. However, sometimes if the opposing plane is very close to
you or if you are travelling very fast, the missile will get confused and
end up flying into the horizon aimlessly until it runs out of fuel. If you
are out of missiles, using the rockets or the automatic cannon can also be
effective. The rockets will fly in straight line under their own fuel until
they either reach an object (ie. the enemy plane) or until they run out of
fuel. Compared with the machine gun, the rockets are more accurate, but you
will have fewer of them available. The machine gun can be effective but
requires greater accuracy on the part of the pilot. The enemy planes are
similarly armed to yours. They can fire either bullets or missiles at your
plane. To evade bullets simply fly away from them or through them. To prevent
a missile from hitting you, the best procedure is to fire a flare (press <F>)
or a chaff (press <C>).
