COLLOSAL CAVE ADVENTURE
-----------------------

This is the grand-daddy of them all. I don't know what sort of machine this
first saw light of day on, it was yonks old when I first came across it,
(whisper) eight years ago, on a HP3000 mini. There ain't no instructions
'cos thats part of the fun, but it's as well to know about SAVE, RESTORE and
QUIT.

This program was converted to the Archimedes by nailing it to a piece of
wood and filling in the gaps with chewing gum. It reads its data from plain
vanilla ASCII files so :

  a) you are on your honour not to cheat

  b) it pauses to read the disk quite often (tough, it's free ain't it)

I solved the game donkey's years ago but have long since forgotten all the
ins and outs so this version has only been partially tested. Hence no
warranty is given about the action of this program, including and most
especially the murder of your hours of patient exploration.

I only spent a few hours converting this so send any grateful thoughts to
the original authors. Have fun,

Ray Loades-Bannon, July 1989.
