                                     MADLIB
                                     ======
Introduction
============

Madlib is a non-serious program to create amusing "stories".
The program contains several skeleton storylines, and you will be asked to
enter certain words to fill in the gaps.
For example:

             The ------- shouted "Aaaargh!"

You might be asked to enter a noun, which would be inserted into the story.

             The robber shouted "Aaaargh!"

The catch is, you don't know in what context your word will be used, and
this often gives rise to funny results.

Operation
=========

Double click on the !Madlib application to run it. I'm afraid it doesn't
multi-task, as I can't write Wimp programs. The screen will show several
icons.

Choose story
------------
This icon lets you choose a story skeleton to fill in. Click on it to see a
list of available titles, and click over the chosen title.

Enter words
-----------
This icon is used to enter the words for the story. Click over it, and a
prompt will appear on screen. For example:

             Noun?_

Now type in a noun. Begin the word in lower case, unless it is something
which always begins with a capital letter, or you are told to do so.
Continue to enter words until you reach the end of the list.

Show story
----------
Once you have chosen a story and entered the words you can read the story.
Click on this icon to print the finished story on the screen. Paging is
selected so if the story is longer than one page press shift to scroll on.

Quit
----
Select this icon when you want to leave !Madlib. You cannot select it whilst
choosing a story or entering words.

Notes
=====

If you enter words and then change the story you must re-enter the words
for the new story. If you do not, an error message will remind you.
