                       CENTRAL HEATING CALCULATOR

                               Version 1.1
              ___________________________________________

              (C) D.J.Holden 1989. This version June 1990

This program was written to enable Central Heating Engineers to asses
the heat requirements of a building room by room. Since it was first
written it has also been used by architects and others to assess the
overall effect of various insulation materials and construction methods.

This program is distributed as 'Shareware'. This means that the author
retains copyright and expects a return for his efforts. This is a 'cut down'
version of the full program and as such it may be freely copied and
distributed provided that this is done WITHOUT CHARGE other than for the
media, distribution and overhead costs, and that the extraneous files are
included without alteration. If you are running a P.D. or Shareware library
or a bulletin board I would appreciate the courtesy of being notified before
you distribute this program. This enables me to respond by sending the
latest version.

This is not the full version of the program. Because of this I do not
require payment if you are using it strictly for DIY or other non profit
making purposes. If you do use it in this way and do not wish to pay for the
full version a contribution will still be appreciated. Remember that the
time and work saved by using this program is probably worth several pounds
to you.

Other than as detailed above you may only use this program for evaluation
and testing purposes. I impose no strict time limit on this. I am sure that
anyone using the program for business purposes will require the extra
features of the full version.

I have assumed that you are using Mode 12 or Mode 16 for your desktop.
The program will work in any Mode but Mode 12 is best and if you normally
use another I suggest that you change to Mode 12 when using the program.

   The Application directory should contain the following files;

         !CH_Calcs The actual program
         !Run \
         !Boot > The system files
         !sprites /
Primer Short text file explaining basic principles
         ReadMe This file

There is also a directory CH_Files which should contain at least two
Example CH. files

Instructions are contained within the program. To view them 'double
click' on the application icon and it should install itself on the icon
bar. If you now click 'menu' (the middle mouse button) on this icon a menu
will be displayed. Click on 'Instrucs' to view or print the instructions.

If you know nothing about calculating the heat losses of a building the
text file 'Primer' will take you through the basics. This should give you
enought information to enable you to use the program.

The full version of the program has many additional features. You can
have as many rooms as you need. You can use Metric or Imperial units. You
can select radiators from almost any manufacturer. You can save your
finished work as a text file. Plus many other enhancements.

Price for Archimedes, Model 'B' or Master versions is 15.00. inclusive
