Purpose.
========

  To set a maximum amount of time to be online and then be warned if you exceed
it.

Function.
=========

  This application is made up of two parts which are run by clicking on the
'modem' icon. It is advisable to load your comms software first (but not
essintial).

  Part 1, Input & Display.
  ========================

    The first part of this program is a multitasking input and display routine
  which will allow you to key in the maximum time you wish to spend online
  and inform you when this time is up.

    If you click the select buttom over the icon on the icon bar, an input window
  will appear where you can enter the online time. This value is only passed to
  the program if you press enter. Closing the window will not pass the values to
  the program.

    When you have been online for the time given another window will appear
  telling you that the given time has expired. You will also be beeped at.

    In order to get rid of this window and prevent the beeping you have one
  of two choices :-
              a.) Log off, this will automatically remove the window and stop
                    the beeping.
              b.) Select the input window and rekey a new time or press enter.
                    This has the effect of resetting the elapsed online time
                    to zero and the count down will start again.

    If you click the menu button over the icon on the icon bar, you will funnily
enough get a menu. This will show you information and allow you to quit.

  Part 2, Monitoring.
  ===================
    This part of the program continually monitors to RI pin on the serial port
  which is normally used as the DCD by most programs.

    When you are online this line goes high and will start the count down, and
  when you are offline this line will go low and the count down will stop.

    When ever you start to go online the counter will be reset to the time you
  have specified.

    If your modem/software does not use the RI pin in the serial port, then this
  software won't work. But don't worry drop me a line and ill alter the prog for you.

Customising.
============

  A default time of ten minutes is given which you can overide. This value is
on the window in the template file. So if you have the template editor you can
amend this value to be any value you want.

***** WARNING - Do not amend this window in any other way. The program looks
at specific icons in order to get is data. ******

  If the warning wondow is not to your liking you can also amend this. The only
thing you can't change is the identifier name.

  I am prepared to do special versions of this application, but not too many !
