!AMFUsage  1.00 (23-Jun-92)
===========================
CPU Usage Monitor
=================
AMFUsage is a small program that is designed to show the speed at which
the desktop is running.To this end,when loaded,it will display an icon in
the icon bar containing a number.This is number of thousandths of a second
that the desktop takes to make one loop round all the tasks.AMFUsage allows
a set number of loops to be averaged out,so that a more accurate speed
indication may be given.

Pressing menu on the AMFUsage icon will allow the number of loops that are
averaged out to be set,and to be saved to disc permanently if necessary.A
higher number of loops will provide a more accurate display less frequently.

AMFUsage is designed to be used to test the speed of desktop applications,
demonstrations,etc,so that they may be improved for speed efficiency.A
standard value may be achieved by loading in AMFUsage,moving the pointer
onto the desktop backdrop,and waiting until the figure settles down.Repeated
tests will allow comparisons to be made.
