!AMFPairs  1.00 (23-Jun-92)
===========================
Memory Game
===========
AMFPairs is a desktop memory game,the aim of which is to select as many
pairs of duplicate file types from a board of hidden tiles.It is possible to
play the computer,having an extremely good memory (naturally),or to play by
yourself.

Use
===
Once loaded,either click on the AMFPairs icon on the iconbar to play a
"default" game (below),or select the type of game you require from the menu
option New game.A window will open,containing 49 hidden tiles,under which
there are 24 pairs of identical file type icons (the sprites used to display
files) and one wild card tile,which is blank.

From the window,select any two tiles.These tiles will then be turned over,
and the undersides viewed.Should the two tiles match,they are removed,and
your score is incremented.Should the tiles be different,they are hidden
again.

If you are playing on your own,you will be prompted for another go,and
another,and another,until all the tiles save the wild card have been
removed.When this happens,look at the number of moves to the bottom right
of the screen.This shows how many moves you have taken to remove all the
tiles.Clearly,the lower this numbers is,the greater your ability at
remembering where the tiles are.

Should you be playing against the computer,the computer will turn two tiles
upside down,and if they are the same,they will be removed,and the computers
score incremented.If not,the tiles are hidden again,and it is time for you
to move again.This process is repeated until all the tiles are removed.When
this happens,compare your score against the computers.The greater your
score,the greater your ability of rememberance.

Preferences
===========
Selecting Preferences from the main icon bar menu will open another window.
From here,the sprites that are used in AMFPairs may be defined.Upto twenty
sprite may be defined,with each being a three letter/number hexadecimal
number between 000 and FFF.All the sprites are to be found in the WIMP
sprite storage area,and are prefixed with "file_" (thus "file_ff9",for the
sprite file icon).It is recommended that each sprite should be 34x17 pixels
exactly,as all the selected default sprites are this size.Extra,non default
sprites may be stored in the file <AMFPair$Dir>.Sprites.

Underneath these twenty sprites,a box with "different types" by it may be
entered into.The number in this box determines the number of different
sprites used.A low number will provide an easy game,a high number,a more
difficult game.Next to this box,the default game type may be set.Once you
have finished setting the preferences,use Save to save them permanently,
Cancel to clear them,or OK to set them temporarily.
