Encode  -  Desktop security utility

from Grasshopper Software

Encode is a superb utility, formerly commercial software priced at 25. Containing a number of features designed to make your desktop more secure and customisable, a full printed manual is supplied with this disc: contact Beebug if your manual is missing.

Please bear in mind that forgetting your password might result in loss of data: we can accept no responsibility for lost data through use of this application.

The following instructions show you how to install the software. You should refer to the printed manual for instructions on use.

Installation on RISC OS 3.5 or greater
1. Copy all the files from the Encode archive onto your hard disc (namely !EncRes, !RncRunT and the /Secret directory).

2. Create an Obey file in Edit called 'EncodeRun'. This should be placed in the !Boot.Choices.Boot.Tasks directory and contain the following two lines:
      Filer_Run ADFS::<discaddress>.!EncRes
      Filer_Run ADFS::<discaddress>.!EncRunT
Note ADFS may need to be substituted for another filing system eg. SCSI or IDEFS. Note also that <discaddress> refers to the disc address of these applications,
   eg Filer_Run ADFS::HardDisc.$.Encode.!EncRes
        Filer_Run ADFS::HardDisc.$.Encode.!EncRunT
(the disc address appears on the title bar when the directory is opened). If you get an error message when executing your boot file such as 'File xxxx not found', check that everything is spelled correctly.

Installation on RISC OS 3.1

      Filer_Run ADFS::<discaddress>.!EncRunT
Note ADFS may need to be substituted for another filing system eg. SCSI or IDEFS. Note also that <discaddress> refers to the disc address of these applications,
   eg Filer_Run ADFS::HardDisc.$.Encode.!EncRes
        Filer_Run ADFS::HardDisc.$.Encode.!EncRunT
(the disc address appears on the title bar when the directory is opened). If you get an error message when executing your boot file such as 'File xxxx not found', check that everything is spelled correctly.
