Rotter - ROT13 encoder/decoder

by Alan Wrigley

A common form of simple encryption, often found on the Internet and elsewhere, is ROT13. This encrypts text by rotating the letters of the alphabet by 13 places, hence its name.

Rotter is a simple application that encodes or decodes ROT13 text. Since there are 26 letters in the alphabet, the same process can be used to encode as to decode; decoding is merely re-encoding that returns the letters to their original places.

The application is run in the usual way by double-clicking on its icon in a filer window. An icon is installed on the icon bar. Dragging a text or data file to the icon results in the file being encoded and re-saved in its original location.
