ViewPic

by Jonathan Hunt

Suitable for use with Acorn Pocket Book II and Psion Series 3a machines. An A-Link is required.

ViewPic is a picture viewer for the Acorn Pocket Book II and Psion 3a. It can load and display standard 2- or 3-colour Psion .PIC files and save them as either a 3-colour .pic file or save out the individual bit-planes.

Any .pic files in a PIC directory will be listed under the ViewPic icon. Simply select one of these to load it, or press Tab to load a file from a different directory using the file selector. Once a file has been loaded, pressing Menu will give you access to the save, info, and exit options.

To install the application, follow these instructions:

1. Set up the A-Link and turn the Remote Link on as described in the A-Link guide;
2. Make sure PocketFS is loaded;
3. Run the ViewPic application;
4. Click Adjust on the PocketFS icon on the icon bar;
5. Open the M directory;
6. Drag the APP directory from this disc to PocketFS::Remote.$.M;
7. Wait until the files have finished copying;
8. On the Pocket Book II (or Psion 3a), press the Desktop button;
9. Press Acorn-I (or Psion-I) and select Viewpic.opa to install ViewPic.
