FilerSize - Set filer display format

by Tony Howat

FilerSize is a short utility which allows you to set the display format of the next filer window to be opened under the desktop. Usually this can only be changed through the filer menu, and the most recent setting is stored in CMOS RAM. This can be a nuisance, however; the full info display is ideal for getting an idea of how large files are, but most people prefer to have large icons on boot-up. A call to this program can therefore be inserted into your boot sequence, and your preferences will be restored every time the computer starts.

This disc contains both the FilerSize utility and its Basic source code. The utility should be stored in the Library directory on your hard disc (for a Risc PC, this will be in !Boot.Library).

To use FilerSize, call it from the command line with a command switch specifying -large, -small or -full. These switches corresponds to the three filer display modes. For example:
	FilerSize -small
results in small icons being displayed for the next filer window. Calling the program with no switch sets the filer to its default, which is equivalent to calling with the -large switch.
