Textures - A texture for use with Photodesk

by Lee Calcraft

This item consists of a texture file for use with Photodesk, and a sample image created by using the texture.

Running the item from the RISC User menu system opens a directory viewer containing two files: StoneSm and JPEGTig. StoneSm is a sprite file containing a Photodesk texture file created from a monochrome photograph of a bed of pebbles. To use it with Photodesk you should copy the file into the !Photodesk.Resources.Textures directory. It becomes active immediately, and will appear on the Textures menu
the next time it is called up.

The second file is a JPEG containing an image created by using the texture over the face of a tiger (by cloning with a textured airbrush). If you don't have RISC OS 3.6 or a recent version of ChangeFSI, you can view this image with the JPEG Decode application supplied elsewhere on this disc.

The use of textures is described in the article Working with Photodesk in this month's RISC User magazine. As a follow-up to the article, Lee Calcraft has created a disc
of photographic textures along the same lines as the Stones texture supplied
here, and these are available for 8.47 ex. VAT from Spacetech (01305 822753).
