WimpAid - Wimp Monitor Utility

by Graham Crow

WimpAid displays a variety of information related to the position of
the pointer on the desktop. This was first published on the RISC User 4:1 disc. This new version brings the application up to date and adds some new features. It is extremely useful when developing programs, as it enables you to see exactly what is happening as the pointer is moved around the screen with the mouse. It can also be used for finding icons which you have lost (a not uncommon occurrence when using the template editor), and if you are having trouble calculating work area and scroll co-ordinates.

Version 2.00 of WimpAid supplied on this disc adds a task display window to those for pointer, window
and icon. It also updates the SWI index by adding those calls
introduced with RISC OS 3.1 and 3.5 (the Risc PC), as well as adding
a new column showing the SWI numbers. Finally, the display has been
improved in a number of ways, including widening icons where
necessary to accommodate the proportional fonts available on the
Risc PC.

A more detailed description together with instructions on using the program can be found in the !Help file inside the application.
