TotalTime - Compact Disc Calculator

by Graham Crow

TotalTime was written to assist a classical music reviewer to calculate the comparative track times of Compact Discs. Its use may be generalised to any situation which requires the addition of hours, minutes and seconds. The column heading "Track" may be changed by editing the text file 'Data'.

Click on the icon in the RISC User master menu to install TotalTime on the icon bar, and click select on the icon bar icon to open the main window.

Enter the times against each item, pressing Return to move the caret to the next column. Each time you press Return the times are totalled.

To confirm the final total click on the Add button.

To clear a single item, click on the corresponding CE button. The total is automatically recalculated.

To clear all the entries click on the Clear button.

Click menu on the icon bar icon for the usual Info and Quit options.

Click menu on the main window to save the data either as a text file, a CSV file or a DrawFile. The text file and the DrawFile may be dragged directly to a DTP package or similar: the CSV file may be dragged to a spreadsheet or table program.

Note that if a line is left blank it will be suppressed in any saved file. Thus if the table is not full, the redundant rows will not be included. However, if a zero is entered in any column, then that row will be included in the output.

By editing the text file 'Data' you can set the number of items between 5 and 30. The default is 10.
