Mirrors - "Vampires don't like light" Game

by Paul Marchall

Mirrors requires RISC OS 3.1 or later and a multiscan monitor capable of displaying mode 21.

To run Mirrors click on the icon in the RISC User master menu. After you have read the title screen press the space bar to start the game.

The first screen shows a torch and a vampire enclosed in a brick wall. The torch may be rotated by pointing to it with the mouse and clicking. To switch the torch on, point to the words Torch off and press and hold the left mouse button. The torch will remain lit while the button is held down. Each time you press the button the battery will become a little smaller. To complete this screen point the torch at the vampire. It is well known that vampires cannot stand light so switch the torch on. Once the vampire has collapsed, release the mouse button to get a message of congratulations.

The second screen is harder than the first. There is no direct line of sight from the torch to the vampire so it is necessary to angle the mirror (point and click) so that the light is reflected from the torch off the mirror(s) and onto the vampire.

When you have completed all the screens you are given a score between 15 and 100. A score of 15 is very poor. It is nearly impossible to score 100 at a first attempt.
