4Align - Vertical Strategy Game

by Gillian Bobbett

4Align is a clone of Connect 4. It can be loaded by clicking on the icon in the RISC User master menu.

The rules are straightforward. Each player plays in turn placing a red or yellow disc in one of the numbered columns. The object of the game is to get four discs in a row. The row may be vertical, horizontal or diagonal. The first player to get four discs in a row wins the game.

First enter the names of the players, followed by Return in each case. The first player will be allocated the red discs, the second player the yellow ones. Players may use either set of numbered keys on the keyboard, or the mouse over their chosen column.

"COMPUTER" may be entered for either or both players, and is to be found on Function Key F1.

Keyboard Shortcuts
Because some people are unable to use a mouse, the game may be completely controlled from the keyboard.

Use "G" for a new game.
"P" for a new match (ie new players)
"S" for the scoresheet to appear
"N" for the scoresheet to disappear
"Q" to cut out the sound
    "T" to restore the sound
    "X" to quit 4Align altogether
