Internet Files - Useful resources for Netters

This item includes a number of files containing useful information for those who are accessing or are considering accessing the Internet. The files cover frequently asked questions about accessing the Internet using Acorn computers, a list of archive sites which contain Acorn-related files that can be downloaded, and a help file for getting started using some of the PD software available.

Running the item from the RISC User menu system opens a directory containing three text files. These can be read by loading them into any text editor, or into a DTP package for layout and formatting if required.

AccessFAQ is a list of FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) about accessing the Internet using an Acorn computer. It is maintained and posted to the Internet on a regular basis by Kevin Quinn, and we are grateful for the permission to reproduce it on this disc.

Archives is a list of archive servers that contain files related in any way to Acorn computers. It is maintained by Gerben Vos, and again we are grateful for permission to reproduce it.

PDNetHelp is based on the editor's experience of starting on the Internet using PD applications, and gives some guidelines to setting everything up. Our new magazine column Netline will continue to offer support for readers who are on the Net, so if there are any other questions you would like answered, please contact the RISC User Netline at the usual Beebug address, or by email to:
