Wimp Title - Title page demonstration

by Nathan Micholey

This program demonstrates the use of a title screen which is displayed when the application is started up. You will often see commercial applications which do this. The program is designed to accompany the Wimp Topics article in this month's RISC User magazine.

The program may be run from the RISC user menu system or by double-clicking on its icon in a directory viewer. An icon is installed on the icon bar, and at the same time a window is opened in the centre of the screen which includes a simple sprite plus some text describing the program. After a few seconds the title screen will disappear, although you can remove it more quickly by clicking over it with the mouse.

The program does little else, as it serves only as a demonstration of the title page concept. Clicking Menu over the icon bar icon opens a menu with two options, Info and Quit, both of which perform their usual functions.

For more information on the techniques involved, as well as details of the code you need to include in your own programs to achieve a similar effect, read the Wimp Topics article in this month's magazine.
