Passport - Desktop country control

by Mark Richards

This program requires RISCOS 3.10 or later

Passport provides a simple way to change the
selected country and alphabet from the desktop without losing several important characters.

The application is run by double-clicking on its icon in a directory viewer, or by running it from the RISC User menu system. An icon is installed on the icon bar. Clicking Select on the icon bar icon opens the Passport control window. The currently selected country and alphabet are shown at the top of this window. Pressing Select or Menu over one of the popup menu buttons (top right) gives a menu from which you can choose from all the countries or alphabets available on your machine. The country can also be selected by number.

Action buttons
Pressing OK causes the following action:
1) The file !Passport.BaseFont is run to ensure that undefined
characters have the machine default bitmap definitions.
2) The selected country is made current.
3) The selected alphabet is made current.
4) If the DeskEdit chars option is selected and you use DeskEdit to
redefine any of the ASCII codes 129, 130, 133 or 134, then the bitmaps
for these codes will be maintained.
5) The screen is redrawn to ensure all text is updated.

Pressing Default sets the country to the configured value.

Pressing Cancel restores the country and alphabet in the Passport control window to the current values.
