Help Demo

by Kate Crennell and Alan Wrigley

This application demonstrates the technique of providing interactive help in your programs. In order to run the demonstration, you will need to install Acorn's Help application and open its interactive help window. You can find Help in the Apps directory in RISC OS 3, or on one of the application discs supplied with RISC OS 2.

USING HELPDEMO
Running HelpDemo opens a window on the Desktop. Assuming that you have Help's interactive help window already open, moving the pointer around over HelpDemo's window will display various help messages depending on the position of the pointer. If the pointer is over an icon, the icon handle will be shown. If it is over the window background, the (window-relative) pointer co-ordinates will be shown.

Further details of the process are given in this month's Wimp Topics article in RISC User magazine.
