The RISC User Morpher - Morphing Demonstration Files
by Colin Cassidy

Double-clicking on this application opens a directory containing a
demonstration animation created with the RISC User Morpher, supplied
on the magazine disc for RISC User 7:2. There are also three
directories containing example files with which you can create your
own animations. The animation is a stunning 16 frame, mode 15 example
of what can be achieved with this application and just a little effort
and patience. The animation will load quite comfortably from this
disc, although, because the sprite file containing the 16 frames is
almost 560K in size, it will be far quicker to run the demo from your
hard drive. To install it on your hard drive, simply copy !Animation
into the directory of your choice. It does not need to be in the same
directory as the Morph application on the magazine disc. The animation
requires 640K of free memory to run.

Clicking Menu over the Animation window opens a menu with 2 options in
addition to Info. The Control menu option leads to the Playback Info
window. In this window, you can set the Maximum Replay Rate of the
animation, from 0 frames per second to 50 frames per second. The
default playback speed is 25fps. You can also change the Delay Before
Repeating value. This is how long the program waits before repeating
the animation. The Single-task menu option allows you to view the
animation outside the Desktop. In single-tasking mode, you can use the
numeric keypad to change the speed of the playback, with '9' giving
you 50fps, and '0' allowing you to single step through the animation
using any key except Space. Pressing Space will take you back into the
Desktop.

To use any of the example files, run the Morph application on the
magazine disc, and double-click on either the CatGirl, JasonKylie or
FisherGirl directory. Drag the sprite file from any of these
directories onto the Morph icon on the icon bar. For two sets of
images, we have also provided CPoints files. The CPoints files contain
a pre-defined set of control points that you can either edit or use to
create an animation immediately. Simply drag the CPoints file into
either of the two sprite windows that will appear. For information on
how to use them, and the Morph application, see Morph's Help file on
the magazine disc for RISC User 7:2.
