ArcScan Index Updates

for RISC User and BEEBUG

Running this application will open a directory viewer containing three files and an application.

VERY IMPORTANT
Because of a mistake in last month's ArcScan index file for RISC User 6:9, in which the incorrect issue number was used throughout the entire file, this disc contains two extra items in addition to the ArcScan index files for this issue of RISC User and Volume 12 Number 4 of BEEBUG.

The two extra items are a corrected version of the RISC User 6:9 index file, RUIv06i09, and an application called ArcUtil. If you have not yet repaired your ArcScan Volume 6 file yourself, you must use the ArcUtil application to repair it BEFORE adding the 6:10 index file. If you did not update your Volume 6 file with last month's index, you don't need to use the ArcUtil application. Just add the RUIv06i09 file on this disc with ArcScan, and then the RUIv06i10 file as normal.

USING ArcUtil
ArcUtil is very simple to use. Firstly, open your ArcScan application directory by double-clicking on !ArcScan with the Shift key held down. Then double-click on the RUData directory icon. One of the files inside this directory will be RUVol06. Now run the ArcUtil application by double-clicking on its icon. The ArcScan Utilities window will open in the centre of the screen. It will first prompt you to Drag the ArcScan Volume 6 file into this window, so drag the RUVol06 file from the RUData directory into the window. It will then prompt you to Drag the ArcScan Index file into this window, so drag the RUIv06i09 file from this disc into the window. ArcUtil will then automatically update and save the Volume 6 file, and then quit.

Only once you have updated your Volume 6 file should you load the RISC User 6:10 and BEEBUG 12:4 (if required) index files into ArcScan in the usual manner.
