Pinboard Backdrops
by John R. Dawson

This application is designed to be used with the Pinboard application supplied as standard with RISC OS 3. Running Backdrops opens a single window displaying 46 sprites representing backdrop patterns. Clicking Select on the chosen sprite creates a backdrop from that pattern by tiling it across the whole screen, and establishes that pattern as the current backdrop. In its present version the application presents eighteen "tiles" of up to 20 pixels wide by 10 high, twenty four of up to 32 by 16, and four of up to 108 by 54.

As presented, Backdrops has been configured for Mode 12 sprites - the WimpSlot and the DIMensions of user sprite areas will need modifying if, say, Mode 20 sprites are to be developed. However, this is not recommended since, although Mode 12 sprites look equally good in Mode 20, the converse is often untrue particularly with some extended colour fills.

It would be a fairly simple matter to replace any of the pattern sprites (which are contained within the file Patterns), with your own designs.
