Stealth Game
by Patrick Dowling

In Stealth you must fire lasers into a grid to discover where the hidden targets are. To succeed at Stealth you will need to use your powers of logical deduction. The game can be played solo against the clock or by two players alternately setting and solving.

The objective is to locate a number of hidden targets on the 8x8 grid, scoring a points value for each one found, but losing points for each laser colour showing at the end of a game. Using a minimum of lasers and observing their colours, you can deduce where the targets must be.

A laser reacts to the presence of a target in one of four ways: firstly, if it hits a corner of the target it bounces off at right-angles, perhaps more than once, to emerge elsewhere at the edge of the grid; secondly, it may return to its entry point if it cannot bounce off the target at right-angles; thirdly, it may score a direct hit on a target; finally, it may encounter none at all.

A match consists of enough games for a player to reach 51 points or more, and your 'Match Score' is then your average game score x 100. When you are practised, switch 'Timer ON'. This allows you 30 seconds free time for each target set but then deducts a point for each further 30 seconds and declares 'Timeout!' after 5 penalty points. A Hi-Score table is kept but only for runs of consecutive timed random games.

The game requires colour and needs to run in a 16 colour (minimum) mode.
