The 80 Column: RISC OS 2 PrinterDM Extensions

Running this application opens up a Filer window which contains two directories, Reverse and NoReverse. These directories each contain a file for use with PrinterDM, for printers with and without fractional reverse feed respectively. The files enable Epson-compatible printers to cope with most characters in the Archimedes set by making use of superscipt and subscript, backspacing and, where available, fractional reverse feed to create accented characters etc.

To add the relevant file to PrinterDM, open up the PrinterDM directory by double-clicking on !PrinterDM while holding down Shift. Next, rename PrDataSrc to PrDataOld (say), and copy the relevant file from this disc into the !PrinterDM directory. Finally, set the Currently Selected Directory to !Printers (using the *Dir command as explained in the User Guide) and double-click on PrSquasher: the source file name is PrDataSrc, and the output file is PrData. When you have done this, PrinterDM should be set up correctly.
