Ovation Cassette Inlay Template
by Alan Wrigley

Running this application opens a directory viewer containing an Ovation document called InlayPlate. This is a template for audio cassette inlays, enabling very professional looking inlays to be produced.

The document is in A4 landscape format, allowing 4 inlays per sheet of paper. Unless you have a wide-carriage printer you will need to use the Print setup dialogue box in Ovation to alter the orientation to landscape.

Each inlay has a number of text frames laid out in the correct positions. At the top of the large face of the inlay there is space for one line for each side, e.g. for the Dolby setting. Under these are the frames for the contents lists for each side. On the spine is a frame for an identification number, and a further frame with space for two lines of bold print, e.g. for the headings. On the smaller face of the inlay there is space for three further lines of information. Two examples are provided to suggest ways in which the inlay could be laid out.

A number of paragraph styles are defined. Besides BodyText, these are Heading, which is bold underlined and could be used as a header for the contents list; Time, which is right-justified and can be used for the total time of each side; Number, which is for the ID number on the spine; and finally Spine, which is used for the main headings on the spine. The fonts used in these paragraph styles (and in the examples) are FritzQuadr and Revue fromthe RISC User Public Domain Library (and which are supplied on this disc).
