Virtual Reality

NOTE: If you get the massage 'Bad Mode' when running these programs, use the Task Manager to allocate 160K to Screen Memory.

Running this application opens up a Filer window containing 5 Basic programs. These programs display scenes in three dimensions, by using the method of stereoscopy. To appreciate the effect, you must position a piece of red transparent film over your left eye and a piece of green transparent film over your right eye. For the first three programs the mouse should be positioned as described in the article in this month's magazine, and for the last two the mouse should be used as normal (i.e. at the side of the computer).

The programs are as follows:

VirtBall - Shows a ball on a string swinging in and out of the screen.

VirtBall2 - The same as VirtBall, except there is a second ball that swings in the plane of the screen. This is the program listed in the magazine.

VirtRealty - Shows a building with two oval windows and a door. The mouse can be moved to alter the view of the building, as with the above two programs.

VirtSound - Allows you to play the piano with three fingers. Move the mouse to move your fingers up and down the keyboard, and use the three mouse buttons to play a note with each of the fingers. Chords can be played by holding down more than one mouse button at a time.

VirtSound2 - The same as VirtSound, except the whole hand is drawn as well as the three playing fingers.

To leave any of the programs, simply press Esc.
