Utility to Insert Control Codes into Edit
by Alan Wrigley

When run, EdInsert installs an icon on the icon bar, and clicking Menu over this icon brings up a menu containing the familiar Info and Quit options.

Clicking on the icon brings up a window containing 9 icons containing numbers. Clicking on any of these numbers will insert the control code with that ASCII value into the Edit window that owns the caret, and if Edit does not own the caret an error box is displayed.

The method used to insert the control codes is explained in the magazine article, but it entails bringing up the find and replace box, so when a control code is inserted into a document, this dialogue box will flash up on the screen.
