Grey Scale Palette
Acorn Computers

Running Palette opens a directory viewer containing the palette file Grey16Pal. This is a palette containing all of the 16 possible grey shades that the Arc can generate.

Colours 0 to 7 are the same as the default mode 12 palette, providing 0, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 and 15 fifteenths white. Colours 8 to 15 provide 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14 fifteenths white, arranged so that the palette corresponds closely to the appearance of the default mode 12 palette on a monochrome monitor.

Running the palette results in it becoming the Desktop palette. As a result it will affect everything displayed by the Wimp, as well as the colours displayed in 'true colour' dialogue boxes, used by applications such as Paint and Draw.

The default palette can be restored by choosing the Default entry from the Palette menu.
