Sample !Boot Application
Alan Wrigley

Note: This application needs to be modified for the machine on which it is run.

This is an example of an application used to set up the computer ready for use. To use the application, proceed as follows: Copy !Boot to the root directory of the disc from which it will be run. This will be your hard disc, your main floppy disc, or your user root directory (&) on Econet. The disc should have its auto-boot option set to 2 (Run) with '*Opt 4 2'. The appropriate filing system must be selected as the default filing system with '*Configure FileSystem'. The appropriate disc drive may also need to be selected as the default drive with '*Configure Drive'. More details are given in the RISC OS User Guide.

The !Boot application will then need to be modified to suit your particular machine. Most of the modifications will be to the file '!Boot.DeskBoot'. This is the file that performs most of the work. You will need to decide which applications are to be run, and in which order. The appropriate commands should be inserted into the file. Typically !System and !Fonts will need to be run first.
