Readme for !Caves by Matthew Willson

This is the second PD release of Caves.

You may distribute it freely, but you must ask me
first before selling it commercially.

The game now has a far easier method for controlling
the spaceship. The keys are different too (go to
the info page from the game menu).

The game is a platform/space flight/obstacle course/
shoot-the-aliens type game. There is no implausible
plot line. For help on the game see the !Help file.
Once the controls are mastered you can work
up to the more complex and rewarding levels.

There are no major bugs I have noticed HOWEVER:

It may not run quite right on StrongArm/RPC - I
don't know.
The movement of the space buggy is a little dodgy
at times. This is really just down to lazy
programming.
If it runs a bit slow on old machines, TURN THE
MUSIC OFF.
The nice turny pointer was nicked off an Acorn User
disc (sorry!). For some reason best known to whoever
wrote it, it leaves your mouse pointer yellow.

If you want to see any further development of the
game, such as new levels, features, better graphics
and animation, PLEASE e-mail with encouragement.
Otherwise I may not get round to it.

Full source code in C and assembly code, with
a primitive level editor, a game sprite converter
utility and some documentation is available for
those who want to customise the game. Please e-mail
me if you want this.

By the way, there is a list of passwords hidden away
somewhere in the game if you're getting stuck on an
annoying level.
