Hi !

all programs, held in /soft/acorn/riscos are in UNIX-compatible .tar.Z form
( except: archivers are not archived and new Files in News are in the Form
the come from usnet (e.g. from comp.binaries.acorn) )
Filetypes and correct names are hold in obey-files named settypes and nameslist

The simple !x-scripts allows you, to extract this .tar.Z files from desktop:

you must load the fpemulator and the clib, compress requires 500 KB next-memory
copy the archive as $.archive.x_tar-Z to $.archive

If you don't like !x, or !x fails, you can extract the archives with compress,
tar, settype and run commands. ( look in !x.commands.!extract how !x do it )

so long
MUFTI

ps:
my boss decided, that the commercial !spark-archiver should be not supported.

Here is a Indexfile for all programs for Acorn Archimedes under RISCOS
with information about binary mode or not is requered to transfer it.

We want to public PD/Freesoft/Shareware-files for education on Acorn Archimedes:

useful utilities
compiler/interpreter
editors
files with information about programming
....

If possible, we want a update of PD-Forth and PD-Hope.

if you know a server with such programs mail to

zrzm0111@helpdesk.rus.uni-stuttgart.de (internet)
or
zrzm at ds0rus1i (bitnet)

note: we have no janet-access....
