Developer News 18/07/97: More CD Fixes ------------- It transpires that the problems on the Conference CD were not restricted solely to the Director / Shockwave versioning (bah...); it has been brought to my attention that the sample Java applet was mangled either in compression or transfer (the actual RISC OS Java implementation is OK, it's just the example applet x-file). I've therefore uploaded a new tested copy of the applet to the WWW site, which can be found as http://www.art.acorn.co.uk/SALES/DEVELOPERS/reference/applets/country.xfi (where .xfi denotes an x-file).You should download the x-file, settype it appropriately and then run the applet from inside it rather than copying the applet to a non-NFS filing system. Regarding Shockwave, it also appears that the documentation omits to mention that the user's MIME map must be updated to recognise Director filetypes. You need to find the location of your mimemap file (*show *mime*) and insert: application/x-director Director ae3 .dxr .dcr .dir into it before saving and rebooting.
