Zone Clock
7
----------- Version 1.01 July 1990 -----------

This program provides an International clock
for your RISC OS DeskTop.

It utilises routines from the Timezones program
from the June 1990 issue of BBC Acorn User to
convert between the different timezones.

------------- Displaying the times ------------

Whilst the mouse pointer is over the Zone Clock
window, pressing the centre (Menu) mouse button
will pop-up a menu with the following options:

Help - runs this Help program

Info - displays info about the program

Zones - brings up a further menu allowing you
to change the clock to display the time & date
from a choice of 8 different cities around the
world.

You will be pleased to know that these 8 cities
can be freely changed by you to any of your own
choice.

------------ Changing the defaults ------------

The default cities, and their time offsets from
GMT, are held in a text file called Zones, and
can therefore easily be changed by loading it
into !Edit.
You will need to know how many hours ahead or
behind GMT the time of the city that you want
displayed.

Also note that the first city is a special case
designed to reflect the time configured in your
Archimedes. The calculations to display times
are not carried out when this first city is
selected, however, the GMT offset must be set
correctly, as all other calculations take this
into account. Therefore, it will display the
correct time from any Time Zone.

The first city (as default) is London, UK, with
an offset one hour ahead of GMT (British Summer
Time) This will need to be changed around about
October for the UK, when the clocks go back.
