VNCServer 0.08 - 32-bit
14 Jan 2006

The VNCserver module in this archive was originally written by Henrik
Bjerregaard Pedersen. It has had a few changes made to it and been recompiled
to be 32bit neutral for use on the Iyonix.

This version also includes improvements made by Crispian Daniels. See the file ReadMeCD for information about these changes.

Note that it WILL NOT WORK with 16 million colour screen modes. To use the
software you should change to a lower colour depth (256 colours will probably
give best performance).

No careful testing has been done and the stability of the module cannot be
guaranteed. Please bear this in mind, and as such I'd recommend using the
original 26-bit version if you have that option (i.e. if you are using a
26-bit machine).

The module has been recompiled using the new module capabilities of gcc. In
order to recompile it you therefore need the following.

GCC 3.4.4
Clib
OSLib
NetLib

All of these are freely available on the World Wide Web.

Run the BuildApp or BuildMod obey file (I recommend doing this in a Task
Window) to build either the application or module respectively. You'll need
to empty out the 'o' directory if you want to recompile everything again.

The MakeFile is for the original version built using the Castle C/C++ tools.
I've not been able to test whether this still works.

I've just done the bare minimum to get the code working on an Iyonix and I'm
not really able to maintain it myself, however, please do feel free to
contact me about it.
